Being At One with Nature
by Linda Johnson
6th March 2007How many times have you thought how nice it would be to sit out in nature among the birds and animals and just 'be'? To soak up nature, and feel the vibration of the earth, commune with the other kingdoms there.
Unfortunately most people don't do more than think about it, or visualise it in their meditations. Very few of us get around to doing it.
I am fortunate that I've had the opportunity, since moving to the bush, to actually do it regularly, instead of just thinking about doing it 'one day'.
At first it took some getting used to. The vibration of the land in the country is much higher than in the city and it can take a while to adjust vibrationally.
I found a spot along our creek that felt really good. It was full of nature spirits and a haven for birds and animals. I made a seat from a couple of bricks and a plank and made a little altar with different crystals for all of us spirits to enjoy.
I would go down there regularly and take my crystals and drum or just to meditate and feel the nature kingdoms. After viewing 'the country' mostly from an air conditioned fast moving car, it is different to actually sit still amongst it and allow it to come to you. You have to slow your pace to match it or you'll miss something.
There are so many birds around here and many of them come right up close to see what I'm doing, or to do a dance on the branch above. A large brush turkey flew right at me, then landed beside me and continued pecking for grubs around me without a care.
A water dragon regularly swims in the pool in front of me then scampers out and stands perfectly still on the embankment. A platypus jumped up one day and gave me a pleasant surprise. Owls nest in the tree above me. The wallabies come down through the bush, and a resident echidna toddles along from time to time. I could shut my eyes and listen to them all calling each other and scampering about.
One day as I was contemplating the beauty of nature I heard a noise right behind my seat and turned around to see a 6 foot long brown snake moving along behind me. I jumped up, grabbed my crystals and ran. I didn't go back there for about 2 weeks.
When I finally went back I couldn't relax. Every time I heard a leaf move I would jump and open my eyes. Gradually I relaxed and connected again. The pond was drying up and an old log that was in there was an ideal spot for something to live under. As I watched it one day a red bellied black snake came down the opposite embankment, had a drink and then stayed under the log, while the water dragon hung out on top.
As my attention was drawn to the snake, a spider landed on me from the tree above and gave me a surprise. Enough was enough. I gave up meditating for that day.
Next day I went back and watched the log. After a while the snake came out from under it and had a drink then went back. I asked my guidance "Am I destined to die from a snakebite?" and the answer was "No". So then I stopped worrying about the snakes figuring they weren't going to go out of their way to get me.
Thinking they were trying to get my attention now, I tuned into nature for a message, and what I got was: 'You can't just love all the cute fluffy things. All of us are part of nature and this place, and to be at one with nature, you must honor us all. Release the fear".
Once I acknowledged this I felt much more relaxed and grounded to my little spot and the creatures that shared it. The elements blended all around me and it's a wonderful experience to get your gear off and feel the sun and the air moving around you! Even better when there's a storm brewing and the wind whips your hair about. Magic.
The elements and animals also seem to enjoy my crystal altar. I have a mushroom shaped stand with an amethyst cluster and some tumbled stones on it. I used to have 9 stones, but the birds took some of them. The other day I looked down the hill at my altar and saw the water dragon lazing in the crystal stand warming himself on the sundrenched crystals so I had to try and get a photo.
The next day it started raining and our dried up creek started to fill. In fact it rose so quickly that it flooded over the banks and came tearing through taking rocks and trees with it. I saw my plastic garden chairs starting to become engulfed, then looked down at my altar and saw it underwater, so I climbed down the embankment as quickly as possible, as the regular path was now under water. My big crystal was completely underwater and the mushroom stand was about to be. I pulled it out and put it higher up the bank and reached into the swirling water for the big crystal and pulled that out.
The rest of the items were probably long gone, the elestial crystal, the quartz cluster, the pewter fairy, ceramic crocodile and the 5 nasca stones. The water was fast flowing and well covering where the alter had been. I turned back to my chairs and found they had been swept away and could do no more.
Several hours later the water had dropped by a metre so went to see if my meditation seat was still there. To my amazement, not only the seat was still there, but all the remaining items from the altar were exactly where they had been left unsecured! Nothing had moved from the altar, yet the mat was gone, the garden chairs were gone, huge logs and boulders had moved - in fact several large rocks had washed up and enclosed the altar but nothing had moved from it!
I felt truly blessed by the nature kingdoms that they had helped preserve everything. The area is now filled with different mushrooms and toadstools and the birds and animals are enjoying the return of the water. The creek feels very regenerated, fresh and grounded and is a lovely place to sit.
So, living with nature means learning to live with the vibration of the land, co-existing with the birds, animals and insects, being accepted by the elemental kingdoms and learning to commune with the elements. You can't do any of this from a car so I encourage you all to do some serious communing! If you don't have access to any local nature, take a trip to a national park or the mountains where you can relax and feel what you are missing in the city.
It is essential for us humans to re-establish a relationship with nature as they represent all the other ascending kingdoms on Earth - we are only one kingdom and need all the help we can get! Make the effort to 'be at one' with nature and give your ascension a boost.
